The pimpernel is particularly in good shape this summer while the lavender continues to delight us...



Our oldest orchid (almost 20 years old now) has started its summer bloom: it is very fragrant (vanilla [Correction: Babette informs me it smells more like tobacco, chocolate and cinnamon.]), especially in the morning. We are expecting 7 more blooms. This is Babette's first and probably favorite orchid (Carl & Wanda sent it from Hawaii).


A perfect Saturday afternoon and evening on the Bay chez Susan. A rabbit was hanging around and Taylor was a darling...



We had a wonderful meal last night Chez Jackie & Sid: mostly Chinese food with superb sauces. Some of us got heavily into the eggplant appetizer, while the cats tried to get as much attention as possible.
